Better late than never probably, so here are the bits and pieces from the bowls over the past week.
Mixed Pairs
The final of the mixed pairs was played on Sunday November 26th when Reta South and Bob Edwards took on Enid Brown and Ash Lewis. Both sides got on the scorecard in the first couple of ends but it wasn’t long before the Brown/Lewis combination started to get the better of their opponents. They went on to take the Bob Richards trophy with a final score of 32 – 12. All bowlers had their moments, but Ash Lewis was the star of the day with many excellent conversion shots. Congratulation Enid and Ash.

Southern Highlands Cup
This event got underway on Saturday 25th when Robertson hosted round 1 against Bowral. This round included fours, triples and pairs matches of two sets each.
In the fours, the Bowral team of Scott Kennon, Terry Butt, Dave Coltman and Kevin Stafford won both their sets, the first 11 – 3 and the second 15 – 0.
In the triples, Bowral’s Alastair McGhee, Stephen Della and Dugald Braithwaite also won both their sets 20 – 2 and a tight one 9 – 7.
Bowral’s pairs team of Craig Norman and Ash Lewis lost the first set 6 – 16 but came back to win the second set 11 – 3. The Norman/Lewis combination held their nerve in the playoff to come through with a victory.
The overall result was a clean sweep for the Bowral side which came away with all three competition points.
Wednesday 22nd Social Bowls
Thirty-eight bowlers fronted up for a roll Wednesday so the Match Committee decided on two games of pairs and five of triples.
