VERY BRIEF BBC BROADCAST WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 20th

VERY BRIEF BBC BROADCAST WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 20th     (Terry Norwood at the desk)

Just a few bits of information:

  1. Social bowls set down for 20th December had to be cancelled due to the inclement weather. At noon, the synthetic surface of the Waratah Green was half covered with water, the rain was still falling and the forecast was for rain to continue during the afternoon. And it did continue! C’est la vie!
  2. Weather permitting, there will be social bowls on Saturday 23rd and again on Wednesday 27th of December. Some members of the Match Committee will be available to organise matters and get things going.
  3. And a reminder to those bowlers who’ve nominated for pennants bowls that training and drill sessions will be organised in January. These will be held on Saturdays with the dates to be announced soon.
  4. The final of the Club Fours Championship has had to be deferred until 2024 with the date to be announced. In this match, Ted McPhee, Reta South, Steven Goddard, and Bob Edwards will play Scott Kennon, Al McGhee, Terry Butt and Dugald Braithwaite, and it should be a cracker. Keep an eye out for the announcement of the date.
  5. As already posted but very much worth repeating, the Club Triples Championship was completed last weekend with the trophy being won by Eliza Kennon, Stephen Della and Dugald Braithwaite. They had a convincing win in the final of 36 – 14, and are deserving of hearty congratulations.

And if I don’t see you between now and the 25th, I wish you a very merry Xmas.
