BBC BROADCAST SATURDAY APRIL 27th (Terry Norwood at the desk)
Pennants Grade Three
The Threes played host to the team from Springwood and came away with a strong 9 points to 1 victory. This result keeps the Bowral team in the hunt to win the premiership with one round remaining. Currently the Bowral boys are three competition points behind the strong Campbelltown side and will need the Springwood team to knock over the leaders to have any chance of taking out the title. As well as Campbelltown losing, Bowral will need to have a strong win when they travel to St Mary’s next Saturday. Bowl well Threes!! The results of this Saturday’s rinks were:
Ash Lewis, Nathan Boyers, Kev Stafford, Mick Spong 21 V Springwood 25
Al McGhee, Dave Coltman, Stephen Della, Dugald Braithwaite 33 V Springwood 8
Terry Butt, Greg Lewis, Mick Anderson, Mick Armstrong 33 V Springwood 10
Pennants Grade Six
The Bowral Sixers travelled to Robertson to take on the locals in the second last round of the competition. Robertson was holding down third place on the table while the Bowral team was holding off last placed Bundanoon by one point. Great credit to Robertson on this glorious Saturday as each of their fours was in excellent form. They all played a high standard of bowls and, except for one rink, ground the Bowral opposition into the dust! The exception was the Chris Forrester led four for Bowral which hung in well, snatching the lead on the twentieth end only to surrender to the best played end by Robertson on the last. So, no competition points earned by Bowral, and the win ensured third place for Robbo on the table. Next Saturday, the last round will see Bowral travel to Bundy to determine who will finally prop up the competition table. Go get ’em Sixers! The results of the individual rinks against Robertson were:
Lynne Boshier, Terry Norwood, Bob Crowley, Chris Forrester 23 V R’son 27
Noel Fraser, Jim Neely, Gail Fraser, Gordon Lewis 10 V R’son 25
Peter Flight, Arnold Lenczuk, Reta South, Bob Edwards 12 V R’son 30
