Bowral Bowling Club members have been raising money to help with the appeal that tha Bowral Co-Op is running to help local farmers who are suffering from the current drought.
Craig Perkins, General Manager of the Bowral Co-Op was present at the prize giving of the MVMGC to reeive the cheques from the Bowral Club
The Bowral Club members donated each time that the paid their green fees during the six rounds of the Moss Vale Motor Group Challenge. They raised a total of $500 which was presented to Craig Perkins by Kevin Jones who had first suggested the idea (Bowral Welfare Officer).
Bowral Bowling Club board promised to match, dollar for dollar, the amount raised. Elaine Jones, Club Chairperson, presented Craig with a cheque for $500 to match that amount raised by the male members.
Nancy Pope presented another $500 raised by the Ladies Bowls Club. Though fewer in numbers, the ladies did a stirling job to raise this amount for the appeal.
Finally, Moss Vale Motor Group principle, Ross Taylors, presented another cheque for $500 from the MVMG.
Altogether $2000 donated to the appeal. We all wish the farmers well in these hard times and hope the drought breaks soon
