The Final of the Consistency Singles took place on Wednesday3rd October 2018. Weather wise, not a very nice day with drizzle and rapidly decreasing temperature. However, this did not detract from a very good final. Both players had handicaps of thirteen shots, so effectively a straight shoot out with first to 150 shots.
The finalists were Mick Flynn and Peter Morales. Mick Flynn led the way with a 7-3 score on the first two ends. Peter reversed that score on the third end to make the score 17-13 to Mick. Mick then steadily drew ahead so that by the tenth end he led 60-40. Peter rallied the next end with a 10 shot score to halve Micks lead. He also won the next two ends to be only two shots behind at 66-64.
From there onwards Mick never lost an end and steadily built his lead so that after 26 ends, and scoring a mighty 10-0 on the last end, he ran out winner 151-99.
So congratulations to both players on reaching the final. Apparently Mick was not won a title for ten years, so it was great to see him remedy that situation. Well done Mick and Peter.
