Saturday10th November 2018 was a day when the Bowral Bowling Club members gathered together to celebrate 50 years of continuous membership by Gordon Lewis.
A good turn out of members arrived for a game of triples and to celebrate the achievement. The group included 12 members of the Ladies club and also Gordon’s sons, Greg and Ashley and grandson Daniel.
The weather contributed to a great day and for the record triples winners on the day were;
Jim Starkey, Kelvin Limbrick and Harold Wall defeated Peter Oates, Beryl Oates and Enid Brown by 21 shots.
Second was the team of Graham Hunt, Paul Leverett and Joshua Woodcock defeating Paul Rubie, Alyson Pryce and Mick Flynn by 19 shots.
The bowls was followed by a BBQ (thanks to Bob Kennett and Barry Werfel) and a presentation of a commemerative plaque by the Bowral Club Chairperson Elaine Jones to Gordon Lewis.
A great day was had by all and congratulations Gordon on those 50 years. It is also worth mentioning that Gordon is not only still playing but this year has played more games of bowls at the Club than any other member.
Sunday 11th November. One game of Senior Singles was played on Sunday with Robin Staples winning against Mick Flynn.
