Club Championship Triples Final

Saturday 22nd June saw the final of the Bowral Club Championships Triples.  A cold day, around the 10 degree mark with the green running only slightly faster, greeted the players for the Triples Final.  In 2018 the winners of this competition were Russell Fahey, Russell Knight and Mick Spong.  With Russell Knight having departed to Bargo, Josh Woodcock stepped up to fill his place.  The opposition team was Oscar Wahlin, Stephen Della and Dugald Braithwaite.
The Spong team started well and eased to a 3-1 lead and after 7 ends still lead by 5-4.  The next 5 ends all were won by the Braitwaite team and this included a 4 and a 3 shot margin, which placed them 15-5 ahead.  A dead end followed and from  then the Spong team closed the gap to 16-10 after 17 ends.  However, the Braitwaite team won 3 of the last 4 ends to run out comfortable winners 22-12.

Congratulations to the runners up and well done to the winning team of Oscar Wahlin, Stephen Della and Dugald Braitwaite.  Stephen and Dugald have been in the winners circle before but a special congratulations to Oscar Whalin as I believe this is his first major win.
