Big Buddy Competition

The October long weekend saw Bowral Bowling Club host the final of the Big Buddy Competition. I am only able to give a brief outline of the event as I have recieved no report.  Would seem that the event was delayed to October 5th 2019 and the final consisted of five games of two bowl triples.  Only one team servived the five games without losing a game and thus were the winners.  Teams from Queanbeyan have been doing very well at Bowral lately.  First and second at the Tulip Festival and now winning the Big Buddy Competition.  Second was a mainly Bowral team of Ian Bradbury, Josh Woodcock and Dugald Braithwaite.  The winners, the Queanbeyan team of Rhys Spiteri, Hemi Palmer and Sean Robertson. A great effort by a polished team.

The Springett green had been declared unfit for play, so it was fortunate that Bowral has an all weather synthetic green which allowed the Big Buddy Competition to go ahead.  Ten social bowlers did turn up for a game.  Placed out on the Bare Foot green they only lasted an hour or so before retiring to the clubhouse before their arms fell off as the green was somewhat slow.
