7th June 2020

There is not a great deal of new news for Bowral Bowling Club.  No date yet for a more general resumption of bowls, but hopefully not too far away.   Last Tuesday, 2nd June 2020, a Wednesday bowls sheet was placed on the notice board.  As a result, twenty bowlers saw the sheet and turned up for bowls on Wednesday which was the maximum players allowed on the greens under current restrictions.  Play was from 1pm until 3pm and I understand some matches achieved 15 ends of play.  There was no sheet on the board for Saturday 6th June, possibly as this is a long  weekend, but the sheet for Wednesday 10th June is available.  The cost is only $5 due to this being more of a rollup than proper games.  With a limit of twenty players the sheet will fill quickly so I suggest you get down to the Club and add your name.  The Bowls Secretary tells me that phone booking is available but I suspect the twenty slots will be gone first.  While you are at the Club you might consider adding your name, along  with a partner, to the Club Pairs Championship.  This event will start shortly after the Club reopens for bowls and I suspect there will not be much time given before entries close.  I suggest that members  keep an eye open for Government announcements and when restrictions are lifted visit the Club notice board for information.  The photograph is bowlers about to commence play in the 2019 Tulip Festival.
