Sunday 13th September. Three matches to be played , quarter finals due to lack of teams. As all the top teams had a great draw it remained to be seen if any of the minnow teams could cause an upset. No surprises in the offering, with all minnows defeated. Best of the bunch was Brian Porter with lead Keith Edwards, Kel Limbrick and Glen Geise. They at least were close enough to need to play all 21 ends before going down to Dugals Braithwaite, Noel Fraser, Jim Neely and Carl Spilker 17-10. Mick Spong with Stephen Della, Kevin Stafford and Chris Barritt-Eyles were too strong for Bob Edwards, Tony Oates, Graham Hunt and Ted McPhee. Mick lead all the way with 8 ends to Bob but a 6 shot loss on the 9th end would not have helped their cause. Similar result for Nathan Boyers, Bob Crowley, Paul Leverett and Skip Josh Woodcock playing Don Coleman, Terry Norwood, Peter Lesureur and Robin Staples. The score was 5 all after 7 ends but on the next end 5 shots to Josh and the flood gates opened and Josh moved on to a comfortable 26-11 win. Both semi final and final to be played next Saturday 20th September. Dugald Braithwaite and team to play the team of Josh Woodcock and Mick Spong against the Ashley Lewis team who had a first round bye.
