Pennants Competition
Saturday saw the opening of the 2023 Pennants season. The Bowral Grade Two team travelled to St Marys to take on the St Marys Diggers and Band Club while the Grade Six team hosted the Taralga Tigers.
The Grade Two results were
Ash Lewis, Terry Butt, Kevin Stafford, Mick Anderson 18 def St Marys 15
Al McGhee, Jim Neely, Carl Spilker, Nathan Boyers 16 drew St Marys 16
Stephen Della, Steven Goddard, Mick Spong, Mick Armstrong 18 lost to St Marys 27
On the overall score, St Marys defeated Bowral 58 – 52. The competition points for the match were St Marys 8.5 and Bowral 1.5

The Grade Six results were
Noel Fraser, Peter Cornwell, Tony Oakes, Dave Coltman 13 lost to Taralga 22
Gordon Lewis, Ian Crow, Reta South, Gail Fraser 16 lost to Taralga 21
Elizabeth Hall, Terry Norwood, Graham Hunt, Bob Crowley 19 lost to Taralga 22
On the overall score, Taralga defeated Bowral 65 – 49, so the competition points for the match were Taralga 10 and Bowral zero.

Men’s Major Triples Championship
On Sunday, the first of the semi-finals of the Men’s Major Triples Championship was played when Terry Butt, Dave Coltman and Al McGhee took on Stephen Della, Steven Goddard and Dugald Braithwaite. Dugald and the two Stevens were successful, defeating their opponents by 27 to 23.
