Pennants Roundup

The 23/24 pennants season came to and on Saturday May 4th with the playing of round 10.

Grade Three

The Bowral grade three team headed to Sydney to take on the side from St Mary’s. Bowral came away with wins on all three rinks to take the 10 competition points. The results on each of the rinks were:

Ash Lewis, Jim Neely, Nathan Boyers, Kev Stafford   20   Vs   St Mary’s   16

Al McGhee, Dave Coltman, Stephen Della, Dugald Braithwaite   28   Vs   St Mary’s   6

Terry Butt, Greg Lewis, Mick Anderson, Mick Armstrong   20   Vs   St Mary’s   19

This result put Bowral on 76 competition points and in second position behind the strong Campbelltown team on 78. The Bowral team had a very fine season and can be pleased with their overall performance. Obviously, they would have preferred to come out on top, but a close second was a good result.

Grade Six

The final week of the season for the Sixers was, unfortunately, a wash-out and the Bowral Vs Bundanoon clash was deemed a draw. This meant that Bowral finished in fourth position on 18 points one ahead of last placed Bundanoon. Although this was a disappointing result, it is no criticism of the individual players who put in their best each week. Taralga and Camden fielded very strong sides and on their home green Robertson put in a red hot performance when Bowral visited them. Time to get the head down, play plenty of bowls and prepare for next season!
