BBC BROADCAST WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 3rd (Terry Norwood at the desk)
Some bits and bobs for a start:
- The first round of the RSL Shield competition was completed last Saturday, so more on that below.
- With the RSL Shield competition continuing over the next two weekends, there will be no rinks available for social bowls on Saturdays September 6th and 13th.
- The Tulip Festival Event organised by the Women’s Bowling Club will be staged on Thursday September 11th. There are a number of visiting teams to challenge the locals in what should be an excellent competition. The morning round kicks off at 9am, so anyone wishing to warm the legs in the sun should have some fine bowls as entertainment.
- The Major Pairs Championship event will see the first round on Saturday September 20th, with nominations closing on Saturday 13th. Come on fellows, get yourselves organised and entered into this very prestigious competition.
- And smokers, again we remind you to use the appropriate areas away from the green while play is in progress. We have many members who are very sensitive to cigarette smoke and need clear air when on and around the green.
RSL Shield Competition
