Club Championship Fours Final

Club Championship Fours Final on Sunday 27th September 2020.  Thankfully for the players the inclement weather from Saturday had moved away  with the wind much lighter and the temperature a couple of degrees warmer, much more when you remove the chill factor.  Winners of the Fours Title were Skipper Dugald Braithwaite with lead Noel Fraser, Jim Neely and Carl Spilker as third.

Runners up were the Ashley Lewis team as played on Saturday with Gordon Lewis leading, Alistair McGhee and David Coltman third.

Final score was 31-13 in favour of the Dugald team.  On the first two ends Noel and Jim gave their team a great start with bowls clustered around the jack.  This helped their team to be seven shots up after two ends.  The Braithwaite team had the ascendancy for the whole match following this good start with scores in their favour of 10-5 after 6 ends, 17-8 after 11 ends and 23-12 after 17 ends.  Just to rub salt into the wound they scored 4 shots next end which meant it was not necessary to play the last two ends.  So congratulations to the Braithwaite team for a comprehensive win and better luck to the Lewis team next year.
