Four matches were due to be played on Wednesday 31st October.  Unfortunately two matches had to be forfieted due to illness.  I understand Bob Edwards had a fall in his garage and broke a couple of ribs preventing his play.  A club member Barry Werfel picked up Brian Porter from Campbelltown Hospital to drive him home.  He is currently recuperating but will need surgery in the future.  We wish both players a rapid recovery and hope to see them back on the green shortly.  As a result of the forfeits Owen Williams and Mike Holmewood move to the next round.

Two games were played.  New member Peter Watson continues to improve and had a good win over Jim Starkey 31-11.  The other match was much tighter with a narrow win to Noel Fraser over Peter Morales.  Peter started well, including a couple of fours, and by the 11th end led 18-7.  The tide then swung and Noel started the long fight back.  Gradually reducing Peter’s lead so that on the 31st end they were 29 all.  Peter held the winning shot on the next end but Noel managed to overcome the threat to score two shots and claim the victory 31-29. Very close.  Quarter finals will be played next Wednesday 7th November.

Note that the Finals of the Club Fours and Plate will not be played on Saturday 3rd November.  The date is now listed as TBA.
