So, no new news really, just as many expected a further extension of the lock down. This time for just another week. There does seem to be a shift in Government thinking. Following the rather lame approach to this latest outbreak the Covid has spread rapidly and it seems that the feeling is that it cannot be contained and we will settle for vaccination and living with Covid. Note that UK are having 30-35,000 cases a day with 50-100 deaths with this policy. For some reason we seem to have been well endowed with the Vaccine in the Southern Highlands so I would imagine that most elder Bowral bowler would have had their second jab by now. We will wait to see what happens next weekend.
Most members would have received the excellent monthly email communication from The Club Manager and his wife. A super service for the Club and if you are a member and not on the list then I would suggest adding your name to the subscribers. The Club has reopened the Bistro and take away drinks so I will repeat the email below which will give you more details. Hopefully the restrictions will be eased soon and we can resume bowling.

So here we are, finally in lockdown along with the rest of the state!
With the Greater Sydney Stay-at-Home order extended until the end of September and Regional until at least Sunday August 28 we are left in uncertainty whether the regions will be slowly and painfully extended too.
In light of this we would like to open up a limited service to our valued community. The Club will be open for takeaway – bistro, bottleshop and coffee – for this Sunday August 22 12pm-5pm and for each following weeks of lockdown for the following times:
Thursday-Saturday: 3pm-7pm
Sunday: 12pm-5pm
Sunday bistro service (including this Sunday) will feature our delicious Sunday Roast! This week is Roast Beef. |

It looks as though tomorrow will be a lovely day for a stroll though, so take the opportunity to stretch your legs ?
Keno and TAB are de-activated State wide and there will be no access to these services during this lockdown period. This is out of our control and we thank you for your understanding. |

| The Club will be open for alcoholic and non-alcoholic takeaway drinks during ‘Lockdown’ hours.
Hot barista coffee will be available should you need an afternoon pick-me-up or if you are out for a local walk. We also hope to have a small selection of cakes to enjoy with your coffee.
6 packs of beer and cider, red, white and sparkling wine as well as limited spirits are available from the bottleshop.
We have also ordered in smoothie takeaway cups and drink trays so that we can offer TAP BEER if this is your preference! (you still need to take these home to drink please – we can’t allow anyone to linger in the Clubhouse) |

In light of the lockdown restrictions the AGM has been postponed from the original August 29 date. The Board of Directors will be in discussion next week to set a new date pending ongoing restrictions.
The financial booklets are available behind the bar should you wish to pick one up during takeaway hours. A digital copy will be uploaded to the Bowral Bowling Club website in the next week.
