Lovely afternoon for week 5 of the Moss Vale Motor Group Challenge.  Graham Hunt and Bob Edwards have streched their lead to 4 shots.  They played against Kevin Jones and Bob Crowley and won 25-18.  Second last week it was Richard Denman and Mick Flynn just one shot behind the leaders.  They slipped a little this week going down 18 -24 against Kel Limbrick and Dave Riddell. This drops them to third, 8 shots behind the leader.  Dave Riddells team has been scoring solid scores each week and are in the pack of teams chasing the minor prizes.  Third last week  was Bill Pope and John Cummings. They were playing Brian Porter and Peter Morales who are this weeks winners of the $100 special prize with 36 shots to the Cumming’s teams 18.  This excellent score lifts the Morales team into the group vying for the minor prizes while the Cumming’s team has slipped to 5th 16 shots behind the leaders. The Robin Staples and Mike Holmewood team also scored well with a 34-17 win over the early leaders Ken Looke and Brian Payne.  This lifts the Holmewood team into second four shots behind the leaders.  Another team that has been quietly accumulating scores is Don Weller and Keith Edwards who now lie in fourth spot.  They had a 23-15 win over Joe O’Donnell (sub for Brian Elliott) and Barry Werfel.  Harold Wall (back from his long holiday and subbing for Kevin Stafford) and Carl Spilker had a close match with John Edmonds and Don Coleman with the final score in favour of the latter team 19-18. Great to see Don Ticehurst back at the Club after his spell in hospital.  Still not well enough to play Chris Forrester took his place with Josh Woodcok and they had a four shot win over Billy Meredith and Gordon Lewis 18-14.

The final week will be played next Wednesday 7th August and we will see if anyone can catch Graham and Bob.  Matches for next week are listed below with the number in brackets indicating their position overall.
