Rain, Rain and More Rain.

The weekend of the 20th and 21st March 2021 was a complete wash out.  Continual rain throughout the weekend meant that there was no bowling activity at Bowral Bowling Club.  On Saturday we should have been playing the fourth round of the Pennant Season.  The Grade 7 teams were the only home team and due to play Bargo.  Grade 6 was away to Camden.  Grade 2 should have been at Bowral against Blacktown  but as their green was still not ready chose to play away at Blacktown Workers.   I would guess that the Zone Officials made the decision that bowls would be cancelled for the weekend which was good as all team members were informed on the Friday giving everyone plenty of time to replan their weekends.  With the rain unabated through Sunday it also meant that the semi finals of the Bowral Club Minor Singles could not be played.  Carl Spilker was due to play David Noble and Glynn Phillips due to play Eric Willacy.  I imagine this event will have to be postponed until Sunday 4th April as Zone has decreed that the round four Pennant matches will be replayed on Sunday 28th March.  This will mean the Pennant players face a busy weekend next week with two matches to be played.  Saturday 27th March the schedule is Grade 2 at home to Penrith.  Grade 6 is home to Campbelltown and as they have had to play their first four rounds away from Bowral due to the greens not being ready they now have five matches in a row at home(we hope).  I do not know if Grade 2 will play the Sunday match at home or away.  All will depend on the green status and I guess this would also apply to the Saturday game.  Hopefully the weather will be kinder next weekend.
