Little by little life seems to be returning to normal. The big step this time is that the Bowral Bowling Club will be opening next Tuesday 2nd June along with the bistro. A 50 guest limit I believe and still some strict rules. However, each move towards a more normal existance is very welcome. I attach the Managers information email below in case anyone did nor receive this communication.
On the bowls side nothing has changed but I suspect an opening will not be too far away unless we have a second wave of corona virus. So you are able to play a game of pairs, or roll up with a mate or by yourself. I ventured back for a friendly game of pairs on Wednesday and not only was it great to be back on the green but great also to see a goodly number of bowlers out for a rollup. As nothing is being officially organised pick up your phones and get yourself some fellow bowlers and have a game of pairs. Coaching is allowed with a coach and one student and the two participants are not part of the ten bowlers allowed on the green. I understand from Dan Ticehurst, Bowls Secretary, that his plan is to start the Club Championship Pairs as soon as possible after we reopen and follow this with the Triples and Fours. This posts trip down memory lane is the 2019 Club Handicap Pairs, won by Peter Morales and Peter Watson who defeated Nathan Boyers and Mick Flynn by 34 shots to 16.
