Wednesday 26th August was Dan Ticehurst’s last day as Bowls Secretary.  With forty bowlers playing social bowls it was a good crowd to give him a grateful sendoff.  Dan has being doing the Bowls Secretary job for a couple of years now, and a wonderful job he has done.  With Dan in charge everything runs smoothly, from social bowls through to all the Club events that he has run.  As with all such events, smooth running only comes through hard work, and Dan has done masses of that on behalf of the members and Club.  Those members who only attend the Club on bowls days never see the hours of work that Dan has put in behind the scene.  He was at the Club most days of the week, working out the Championship events and spending the hours necessary to ensure the Zone events are properly displayed and attended.  Many is the time that he has not played himself in order to attend and assist barefoot bowling groups. So on behalf of all the members I thank you Dan for all that selfless work on our behalf.

Chairman of Bowral Bowling Club, Stephen Della, and President of the Mens Bowling Club, Bob Crowley were both on hand to thank Dan for all his time and effort.  Carl Spilker, who will take over the job from Dan, with the new title of Bowls Co-ordinator presented Dan with a token of the Clubs appreciation and a new trophy which will be called the “Dan Ticehurst Trophy”.
