Saturday and Sunday 23/24th November 2019 was the Rookie Pairs State Finals at Raymond Terrace.  Bowral players Carl Spikler and Alistair McGhee had an excellent tournament and reached the semi finals.  On the Saturday they played a round robin format to deside the semi finalists.  The Bowral pair won all three games to win their section and advance to the semi final.  They beat teams from Gymea, zone 13, Picnic Point, zone 12 and Lowlands, zone 2.  All three matches were comfortable wins with scores of 17-7, 14-8 and 12-6.

On Sunday they were up against a Shoalhaven pair and were narrowly defeated 9-12.  This Shoalhaven pair continued on to win the final against a Maitland City team by 11-10.  A great effort from Carl and Alistair.

Sunday at Bowral three games of the Club Handicap Singles were played.  Kevin Jones, fully recovered from his Senior Singles Final, played well in going down to Josh Woodcock 31-20.  Paul Leverett with 31 defeated Mike Holmewood 18.  Finally in a very close match Bob Crowley continued his good form with a 31-29 win over another in form bowler, Dave Riddell.  Results in “Draws and Results”.
