Welcome bowlers to 2020. The New Year is slowly getting under way at Bowral Bowling Club. The weather has of course been awful, with scorching hot days and much smoke. Our thoughts are with all our Club members that have houses which are threatened by the bush fires. This applies to quite a few members, some who live to the North of Mittagong, those on Mount Gibraltar and those living near Bundanoon. Take care, and we will keep our fingers crossed until this fire season eases up.
At the Club, social bowls is under way again. I gather ten members played on Saturday 29th December with the temperature hovering around 35 degrees. Four members trickled in on Wednesday 1st January and had a short game. Saturday 12th January was planned as a Pennant Trial. Possibly a good thing that with temperatures forcast to be 40 degrees it was cancelled as very few players selected had seen the notice board and ticked their names off. With much nicer weather on Wednesday 8th January, 28 social bowlers were present to play.
Hopefully you will have noticed the brochure at the head of this post.
