Lockdown continues

With the Government lockdown of clubs continuing there is little to report.  Gordon Lewis continues to keep Bowral Bowling Club’s name in the sports page of the local newspaper, this week with a snapshot of one of our top players, Mick Spong..  The Club’s new manager has opened the bottle shop for business and members are encouraged to support the Club by using these facilities.  I will attach the information for the bottle shop below.  Just so that we do not forget  about bowls here is the report of the 2018 Club Handicap Pairs.  Also a photo of the finalists and the draw should you wish to look back and see who was playing. There are some positive signs of the corona virus stablising so let us hope that the return to bowls is not too far away.

HANDICAP PAIRS

The long awaited final of the Bowral Bowling Club Handicap Pairs was played on Saturday 15th September.  The two teams that reached the final were Mick Flynn and Clive Neutze and Kevin Jones and Ashley Lewis.  Mick and Clive took a ten shot handicap into the game.

For the first half of the game the scores were fairly even.  Half way the score was 18-10 with Kevin and Ashley only picking up two shots.  They made better headway as the game progressed and gradually cut back Mick and Clives lead to be on level terms by the nineteenth end.  Winning the last two ends saw Kevin and Ashley win by 27-23.  Well done all the participants.
